Connection to medicine

Behind every disease, there is a research team looking for answers and a cure. With Covid-19 on the rise, the speedy demand for vaccine and treatment are paramount. But how many of us know the toll, timing, and overall process of creating a vaccine.

Novartis, one of the largest global pharmaceutical companies, wants to guide everyone through this journey, explaining one of the crucial parts of a vaccine—clinical trials. The overall goal is to encourage volunteers to sign up for clinical trials through an easy-to-read infographic.

The concept heavily depends on the metaphor of the Novarts orange-red droplet as the cure or medicine. In the drawing room, at first, we were challenged with the timing of the metaphor.

Knowing the average attention span of a user, the connection needed to be clear upfront—the title page. With a full-bleed view inside a vial of medicine, you can see the droplets that would be used throughout the journey.

Journey into the pneumatic tube system

Science can often feel intimidating and cold, but it doesn’t have to be. We look to a soft and gentle approach, using the pneumatic tube system, a structure that’s often used in science experiments. As you scroll down the webpage, you’ll be taken through an abstract journey full of exciting twists, turns, and interactive knowledge.
